The battle of the titans, the battle of Manchester, the battle of Pep Guardiola vs Jose Mourinho. Both teams wanted to win, as the scoreline will eventually have some bearing on who'll win the premier league this season.  Mourinho benched Mata, and surprisingly Rashford and started Lingard in the English youngster's place. Zambia vs Nigeria Russia 2018 World Cup qualifiers shifted September 9, 2016 10:33 AM — Linda Ikeji The Zambian Football Federation has confirmed that it's Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier against the Super Eagles of Nigeria has been shifted from October 3 to October 9. According to the FA's website, zambianfootball.co.zm, the game was moved following a request by the Football Association of Zambia.  Nigeria and Zambia last met at the 2013 AFCON in South Africa and the game ended 1-1. Algeria and Cameroon are the other teams in this World Cup qualifying group and only one team will be allowed automatic qualification to the Russia 2018 World Cup.. Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid banned from signing new players for two years, fined £278k and £696k respectively September 9, 2016 7:20 AM — Linda Ikeji FIFA has suspended Spanish giants Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid from signing new players from now till January 2018 following irregularities in the signing of minors.  The two clubs went to a FIFA court to contest the ban handed to them for not properly signing players under the age of 18 earlier this year, but in a new statement released today, the world's football governing body say both clubs have been suspended from making transfers for the next two years and have been fined £278,000 and £696,000 respectively.  The FIFA statement reads:  “The FIFA Appeal Committee has decided to reject the appeals lodged by Spanish clubs Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid and to confirm in their entirety the decisions rendered by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee in the respective cases relating to the protection of m...

September 9, 2016 6:15 AM — Linda Ikeji A video from 1997 has resurfaced showing Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho now arch-enemies- sharing a tender, loving embrace in the center of the Feijenoord Stadion in Rotterdam, Holland at the end of the Cup Winners' Cup Final, which saw Barcelona run out 1-0 winners against Paris Saint-Germain. Mourinho was at that time a young translator/coach under Sir Bobby Robson while a young Pep Guardiola bossed things in the center of midfield. Now ahead of the Manchester derby, Mourinho has been priced by bookmakers at 8/1 to be sent off this weekend, such is the hatred/rivalry between the pair. Lionel Messi's dog was just a pup eight months ago September 9, 2016 9:00 AM — Linda Ikeji Messi got the dog as a present from his partner, Antonella Rocuzo in February. It's a French mastiff breed called Dogue de Bordeaux. Renowned for it's brute strength and particularly difficult to train, it becomes completely attached to its owner once the connection is made.
