The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has condemned the killing of the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Lawan Andimi, by Boko Haram terrorists, describing it as cruel, inhuman and deliberately provocative. The retired general stated this in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, in Abuja on Tuesday. No fewer than three persons including a boy were burnt to death in the pipeline explosion that erupted in the Abule Egba area of Lagos state. It was gathered that the explosion was due to the activities of vandals who allegedly ruptured the pipeline in a bid to steal fuel. The deceased boy among them was reportedly inside one of the nearby shops sleeping with his parents when the fire had started. He reportedly ran for safety when he noticed what was happening but unfortunately, he didn’t make it out alive. All the three dead bodies were evacuated into a Lagos State Emergency Health Service pick-up van to be deposited at the morgue. Not more than 10 houses were destroyed alongside the pipeline. ASUU denies plans to embark on strike on October 2nd September 14, 2016 12:05 PM — Linda Ikeji The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has denied media reports saying it was planning to embark on a one-week warning strike. The News Agency of Nigeria NAN yesterday quoted the Chairman of the University of Abuja chapter of ASUU, Ben Ugheoke, as saying the union will on October 2nd embark on a one week warning strike to press home their demands fro the full implementation of the 2009 agreements they had with the Federal government.  In an interview with Premiumtimes today, Ugheoke denied making such an announcement in an interview he granted a NAN reporter.  “A certain reporter in NAN is responsible for this damage. Graphic photos: Mother of a set of triplet murdered in Rivers state September 13, 2016 1:09 PM — Linda Ikeji A mother of a set of triplet simply identified as Mrs Amadi was murdered at her home in Rumuekini a community in Obio-Akpor of Rivers state on Saturday September 10th. According to Facebook user, Theophilus Utchaychukwu who shared the story, the woman was murdered while her husband, Mboy Amadi, was out to watch a football match at a viewing center.  A yet to be identified person entered his house and stabbed the woman while she was in bed asleep with her daughter. The little girl woke up to notice a warm sticky fluid dripping and discovered it was her poor mother's blood. The 12 minutes 58 seconds video was shared on Youtube. The narrator spoke in Hausa language and showed suspected terrorists doing their Eid prayers on Monday September 12th.  “This is our eid prayer from us and by the support of our leader Imam Abubakar Al-Shekau. We are extending our greetings to our people and fighters. Message to the infidels and the leader of the entire infidels (kafir) who is the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, that he should know we are very strong and doing very good. $122million in cash is found at home of Russian anti corruption chief during police raid September 12, 2016 4:46 AM — Linda Ikeji A Russian anti corruption chief has been nabbed with $122million cash during a police raid on his home. Russian police seized the haul during a raid on the house of Dmitry Zakharchenko, the deputy head of the Energy Industry Department of the General Administration of Economic Security and Combating the Corruption.  The money was reportedly so much that they had to pause in order to find boxes large enough to hold the cash.
