Obi visited Atiku in his Asokoro, Abuja residence around 3pm on Friday, after which they went into a closed-door meeting, fuelling speculations that the Waziri of Adamawa could announce him as his running mate anytime from now. It was gathered that a former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, has been picked as the running mate of the former VP in the February 14, 2019 election. Obi emerged the preferred choice of both the party and the candidate after series of consultations by stakeholders in the party and outside it. It was also learnt that the name of Obi and that of Atiku will be sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) next week.
