The governor-elect of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, has issued an order freezing all bank accounts belonging to the state government with effect from yesterday January 14, 2020. According to a statement released by the Director-General, Hope Uzodinma’s Campaign Organisation, Chief Cosmas Iwu, the governor elect instructed that no bank should honor any transaction request from any member of the Emeka Ihedioha-led government. It was gathered that a former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, has been picked as the running mate of the former VP in the February 14, 2019 election. Obi emerged the preferred choice of both the party and the candidate after series of consultations by stakeholders in the party and outside it. It was also learnt that the name of Obi and that of Atiku will be sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) next week.
